AT-KABUL: Sixty-one Taliban fighters were killed and 46 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, security officials said.
Ministry of Defense said Tuesday in a statement that the national army with the cooperation of the national police and National Directorate of Security conducted operations against the Taliban insurgents in different areas of Jawzjan, Faryab, Balkh, Badakhshan and Kandahar provinces.
“In these operations, 61 rebels including two commanders were killed and 46 others were injured,” the statement added.
“The army discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.”
