AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Wednesday said that its operatives arrested a senior intelligence official of the Taliban in the northern province of Balkh.
Afghan Intelligence operatives succeeded to arrest Taliban Deputy Intelligence Chief Mirwais through an operation in Shirabad area of Dehdadi district of Balkh province, the NDS said in a statement.
Mirwais was involved in collecting information regarding presence and raids of Afghan security forces in the area, the statement added.
He had also played a key role in organizing and conducting of terrorist and subversive activity in the province.
