AT-KABUL: A Pakistani chopper on Thursday made crash landing in southern Logar province due to unknown reason.
However, there are conflicting reports about who were on board. According to some sources those aboard were taken hostage by militants while the provincial government said that the survivors were taken by local people.
“A Pakistani chopper made emergency landing in insecure Azra district of Logar province on Thursday before noon, all six on board people survived and are with local people in the area,” said Salim Saleh, spokesman to the provincial governor.
He said that after crash the chopper caught fire, but the on board people are safe. They are with local people in the area.
Another official in the province told Afghanistan Times on the condition of anonymity that all on board crew and passengers were captured by militant in the area.
No militant group has taken responsibility, so far.
Azra is one of highly insecure districts in Logar where Taliban militant are active.
