AT-KABUL: Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock said Saturday that the almond products would increase by 50 per cent in the northern Kunduz province this year.
Agriculture experts after assessment of almond gardens said that almond harvest will be better this year in Kunduz, said MAIL in a statement.
Kunduz is one of the well almond producers, where currently, 1,570 hectares lands are almond gardens, the statement added.
It said over 20,461 famers were engaged in gardening in six different district of Kunduz.
Afghanistan almond export to Arabic states, India and Pakistan, where it has a good market, statement noted.
The statement highlighted that based on estimation, Kunduz almond product will reach to 680 tons this year.
The price of seven kilograms of almond is 7,000 to 8,000 Afs in Afghan market, which brings a good income to farmers.
Kunduz is one of the best producers of almond in northern provinces.
The ministry will struggle its best to bring change in farmers life and helped them to move toward mechanized cultivation in future.
