AT-KABUL: Taliban fighters reportedly executed six security personnel taken hostages in the Bakwah district of western Farah province, said officials Tuesday.
These people were hanged in the Joma Bazar area Monday at around 4:00pm, said Farah Police Security Chief Mohammad Ghaws Maliar.
He said that two police, three soldiers were among the people hanged.
He said that the people were dragged out of a bus in the Bala Boluk district, while on their way to Farah around one month ago.
The hostages were executed publicly.
Taliban Spokesman Zabihaullah Mujahid neither confirmed nor rejected the report.
“We will investigate the incident and will have remarks in the aspect.”
Taliban have recently changed their war tactics, stopping buses and taking passengers particularly police and army forces.
Tens of people including number of army and police were taken hostage in highways by Taliban and number of them gun down in the past three months.
Taliban are trying to create fear among people by taking hostages.
