AT-KABUL: Twenty-six Taliban insurgents including two commanders were killed in joint clearance operations launched by security forces in Ali Abad distract of northern Kunduz province, ministry of interior said Monday in a statement.
The statement identified the commanders as Nasir and Qari Omar killed in Qazaq localities, today [Monday] morning.
Recently, security forces have targeted the core leadership of insurgents, killing dozens of them; including provincial governors, distract governors, judges and military commanders killed.
Separately, Taliban shadow judge was arrested during an operation conducted by national police in northern Parwan province, the ministry of interior said in a statement.
He was identified by the statement as Mohammad Nader who was arrested in the Shinwari district.
Nader was involved in different terrorist and subversive activities in the province, the statement said.
Meanwhile, ministry of defense said 15 Afghan soldiers lost their lives in the past 24 hours as they clashed with the insurgents in different parts of the country.
