AT-KABUL: After months of negotiations finally Afghan government today signed the long-awaited peace agreement with Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HIA), led by former Jihadi leader, Gulbadin Hekmatyar in Kabul.
The agreement which was signed by National Security Advisor, Hanif Atmar and Karim Amin, delegation head of HIA will be presented to president, Ashraf Ghani and HIA leader, Gulbadin Hekmatyar for final signing soon, but exact date is not yet announced.
According to the agreement the materials of the pact would be implemented after final signing.
The agreement will facilitate reintegration of HIA members in political system and dignified reintegration of HIA refugees from neighboring Pakistan.
The government also vowed to facilitate removal of the names of HIA leaders from UN black lists and to release prisoners of the group.
In return the HIA will accept national constitution of the country and will disarmed and dissolve all its military formations and will end all its military and armed activities and will cut its ties with terrorist networks.
