AT-KABUL: At least 43 Taliban insurgents were killed and 23 others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces within the past 24 hours across the county, security officials said on Saturday.
“The national army with the cooperation of the national police and the national directorate of security operatives, conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Ghor, Herat, Takhar, Kunduz, Jowzjan and Helmand provinces,” the defense ministry said in a statement.
“In these operations, 43 insurgents including a Daesh terrorist were killed and 23 others injured,” it said, without elaborating about the Daesh fighter death.
According to the statement, six insurgents were arrested during the operations.
“Unfortunately, four soldiers were also killed during the clashes.”
