AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) Wednesday foiled a suicide attack on the Consulate General of India in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province.
In a statement, the national directorate of security said that the agency had detained two would-be suicide bombers before they could attack the Indian consulate in Jalalabad.
“The suicide bombers were identified as Nasrullah and Obaidullah,” the statement said.
“Five kilograms of water Jill, 15 kilograms of potassium chloride explosives, 9 bombs, one mine, 6 electric capsules, two remote controls, a Global Positioning System (GPS) device, a transmitting antenna, a pair of Afghan army suits, some ammunition were sized,” The statement added.
It noted during the investigations, the detained admitted that they were involved in different terrorist activities in the province.
“They confessed that they had before kidnapped two national traders named Haji Gul Muhammad and Irfanullah and asked for $ 5 million to releasing them,” the statement concluded.
It is worth mentioning that about two years ago, the Taliban attacked the Indian consulate in Jalalabad in which at least a dozen people were killed and over 20 injured. The victims were civilians and no diplomats had suffered injuries in the attack.
