AT-KABUL: At least 25 insurgents were killed and 25 others wounded in different operations launched by the Afghan security forces within the past 24 hours across the county, Ministry of Interior said on Monday.
Afghan National Army (ANA) with the cooperation of the Afghan National Police (ANP) and the National Directorate of Security operatives, conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Kabul, Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktia, Wardak, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Herat, Ghor, Sar-i-Pul, Faryab, Baghlan, and Kunduz provinces, the interior ministry said in a statement.
In these operations, 25 insurgents were killed and 25 others injured, the ministry claimed but did not provide names of the killed and injured militants.
According to the statement nine insurgents were arrested during the operations.
The ministry also claimed that the security forces have seized huge cache of ammunition during the operations, but the statement did not provide any details.
Security forces have suffered no casualties during the raids, the statement said.
