AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Sunday said that a Taliban weapons and ammunition supplier was arrested in Kabul.
The intelligence operatives arrested two insurgents who were supplying weapons and ammunition for Taliban fighters in Kabul, said NDS in a statement.
The captured insurgents identified as Ikram and Hasibullah, who during primary investigation accept their crime, added the statement.
Two AK47 machineguns, one rocket propelled grenade, one pistol, 13 grenades, 18 bullet magazines with some explosive devices were discovered and confiscated from the detained rebels, said the statement.
The seized ammunition was placed skillfully in a Toyota-Corolla vehicle, noted the statement.
The captured people were used to transfer the ammunition and weapons from Wardak province to Kabul and planned to use them in terrorist activities.
By arresting the mentioned weapon supplier, the NDS operatives succeeded to prevent a bloody incident, which would cause at killing and wounded of innocent people in Kabul city, underlined the statement.
