AT-KABUL: Marking the University Students’ Day, the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) promised to strive hard to address lack of dormitory challenges, in the varsities, soon.
“Ministry will exert utmost efforts to solve accommodation challenges of the students in the country,” said Head of University Students at the ministry, Sayed Najmuddin Jalal.
While confirming lack of accommodation facilities for students in Kabul, he said that those students who have no access to dormitory would be provided cash to afford their stay in the capital city.
Construction of hostels would need budget and time, he said, assuring that the ministry is searching for ways to address these challenges.
“Ministry of Higher Education has initiated several steps to update the curriculum and upgrade the dormitories to suit students need,” said Jalal.
Pointing to discrimination in certain universities, he said the MoHE would act legally against those teachers, who fan the flame of discrimination in the academic institutions.
President of the Afghanistan Students Association, Zahir Faizi, urged the students to keep unity in their ranks and strive hard to pursue their studies.
He said that knowledge is more important than politics. “It is required of every student to strictly pursue their education in order to lead the country toward development,” he said.
Faizi stressed on improvement and promotion of Afghan culture and languages.
