AT-KABUL: Security forces in a joint operation arrested four kidnappers in southern Kandahar province, security officials said Sunday.
“They were identified as Latif, Mohammad, Najebullah and Abdul Ahad,” ministry of interior said in a statement.
It added that they are accused of several human criminals including killing, abduction and stealing in the province
“The security forces during the operation rescue a man who was kidnapped earlier this month by kidnappers and they demanded 5,000,000 Pakistani Rupees from his family,” the statement said.
The abductors were involved in majority of insecurities police also seized and confiscated some weapons from the kidnapers.
Kidnapping is considered a major problem in Afghanistan, with ransom being motive in most of the cases.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives last week rescued a boy kidnapped in the western Farah province and arrested four suspects.
“The six-year-old Naveed was kidnapped from Police District 3 of the provincial capital city, Farah and the kidnappers demanded $100,000 from his family,” the NDS said in a statement.
