AT-KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai expressed his grieves over the demise of former Iranian president Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
Karzai extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family as well as the government and the people of brotherly and friendly of Iran.
He prayed eternal paradise for the deceased and courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
The former president added that the late Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani was a freedom fighter who had played a key role in the foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“His efforts and performances are eternal and unforgettable. May his soul rest in peace,” Karzai added.
