AT-KABUL: At least 20 Taliban insurgents were killed when an Afghan airstrike targeted their training camp in southern Helmand province, ministry of defense said Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry said the airstrike was carried out in Khanshin district of the province, early morning.
“At least 20 Taliban insurgents were killed and cache of ammunition was also destroyed during the operation,” the ministry said.

This comes as the militant groups carried out at least deadly attacks against the security forces in the province in the past 24 hours.
At least 11 policemen lost their lives after one of their comrades apparently having links with the Taliban, opened fire on them in Lashkar Gah city, the provincial capital.
Another explosion took place in the main highway located in the outskirts of Lashkar Gah city on Tuesday, targeting a convoy of the security forces who were transferring prisoners to southern Helmand province.
