AT-KABUL: A Taliban’s shadow district chief was killed along with his 15 fighters in an army’s airstrike conducted in the northern province of Kunduz, police sources in the province said Sunday.
“The Taliban’s shadow chief for the Emam Sahib district, the group’s deputy shadow governor for the province, military officials of Taliban along with 15 insurgents were killed during airstrike conducted by Afghan army Emam district,” said a Mahfuzullah Akbari, Spokesman for the Press office of 808 police zone, without naming the shadow district chief.
He said that the airstrike operation targeted these fighters in Choqor Qishlaq, Qatar Pelaq and Dawang Qishlaq of Emam Sahib district.
Three other rebels were also wounded during operations, he added.
During operation an ammunition cache of Taliban also completely destroyed, he noted.
