AT-KABUL: At least 189 fighters loyal to Daesh (Islamic State) were killed and 61 others wounded during operations carried out by the security forces in the past four weeks in eastern Nangarhar province, provincial officials said Monday.
A press statement issued by Ministry of Defense said that these fighters were killed and wounded in Haska Meena and Kot districts during air and ground operations conducted by army forces.
The statement added that over 10 villages have been cleared from Daesh during the operations.
A large ammunition cache of Daesh terrorists was also destroyed in the area, statement added.
No casualties incurred to civilian during operations.
