AT-KABUL Eight local police officers all members of the same check post were killed by their colleague having links with the Taliban in southern Zabul province, officials said on Saturday.
Eight local police were killed after their colleague who was working for the Taliban shot them at a checkpoint in Shenkai district of Zabul province, said Governor Spokesman, Gul Islam Sayal.
He said that the incident took place on Friday night, which after the incident police reached to the area and currently checkpoint is under control.
He said that the two rogue local police after killing their college with weapons escaped from the check post.
No group claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, but governor spokesman said that the suspected assailants had fled back to the Taliban.
