AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A huge avalanche blocked the roads leading two districts to the provincial capital of central Bamyan province, creating troubles for passengers to reach their destinations, an official said on Wednesday.
The avalanches have fallen from a mountain on Tuesday on the roads of Punjab and Waras districts of Bamyan province.
Mohammad Amin Warsi, a passenger told Pajhwok Afghan News, “More than 200 passengers including children and women of 60 vehicles were waiting for clearance of the route.”
Moreover, the Provincial Natural Disaster Management Authority Chief Ahmad Reza Rafat, said the passengers have taken temporary shelters in local villages and hotels.
He added that the avalanche also destroyed parts of Punjab road but efforts are underway and an excavator had been sent to the area to reopen the route for traffic.
