AT-KABUL: At least 59 insurgents have been killed in counter-terrorism operation carried out by Afghan security forces during past 24 hours across the country, security officials said on Monday.
In a statement issued here, the Ministry of Interior said the counter-terrorism operations have been conducted in Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Khost, Balkh, Maidan Wardak, Helmand, Zabul and Kunduz provinces, in which 59 insurgents were killed and 23 others received injuries.
According to statement, 23 militants sustained heavy injuries and 18 others were arrested by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
The statement also made it public that security forces have discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds of ammunitions.
It is worth mentioning that counter-terrorism operations against Taliban and Daesh terrorist groups are underway across the country. The Afghan security forces are bravely conducting air and ground operations to eliminate them.
