AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: A wide-range military operation, codenamed Khalid-1 has been launched against terrorist outfits in northern Kunduz province, local officials said on Friday.
Police Chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Hameed Hamidi told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation has been jointly launched by security forces from Kunduz City, the provincial capital.
He pointed out that insurgents are fleeing from the area after two militants were killed in provincial capital. He added during the operation, there were zero casualties on the part of security forces and civilians.
Kunduz is a strategic province where the Taliban insurgent groups plotting terrorism and destruction against security forces and civilians. However, insurgents have continuously failed to capture the province. Afghan security forces are bravely chasing insurgency across the country. The recent offensive in Kunduz would be helpful to completely root-out all insurgent groups in the province.
