AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 28 Islamic State (IS), which is also known as Daesh terrorists, were killed during an air-and-ground operation in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Saturday.
Provincial governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News said that the militants were killed in Haska Mena, and Achin districts late on Friday during an ongoing operation codenamed (Hamza).
“Nine rebels were killed during airstrikes in the Arghach area of Haksa Mena and 19 others in the Mamand neighborhood of Achin,” he said, adding that foreign militants were among the dead. The killing has come as recently the US forces in Afghanistan dropped the biggest non-nuclear bomb on Daesh militants, killing over 90 fighters.
