AT-KABUL: At least seven civilians have been killed, and six others were kidnapped by the Taliban insurgents in western Farah province, officials said on Wednesday.
“Taliban insurgents stopped a 303 bus, taking down seven civilian and killed them all in Balablok district of the province,” said Farah Governor Spokesman Naser Mehri.
He added that the killed civilian were possibly ex-government officials.
He added that shortly after the incident, the Afghan forces rushed to the area, in which clash erupted between Afghan security forces and the Taliban insurgents.
After a few hours of clashes, ten of the Taliban insurgent have been killed, and seven others wounded, he added. “Two Afghan security forces also sustained injuries in the clash.” Moreover, he assured that the highway is open for traffic.
Meanwhile, a member of the Provincial Council, Bakhtawar said that the Taliban stopped a bus in Balablok district on Farah highway, killing six civilian, while took six others with themselves.
