AT-KABUL: Taliban killed 22 civilians, after capturing Taywara district of western Ghor province on Sunday, officials said.
“Taliban opened fire at local people during capturing of Taywara district and killed 22 civilians including student, patients and doctors,” said Ghor Police Spokesman Mohammad Iqbal Nezami.
He said that Taliban has created horror situation in Taywara, they also torched houses of people cooperating with the government.
Afghan forces are ready to conduct operation to retake the district, but they are waiting for additional forces to be dispatched from center of the province, he added.
Shah Hussain Murtazawi, Deputy Spokesman for President in a press conference also confirmed that Taliban after taking control of Taywara district opened fire at civilians.
It is pertained to mention that Taliban massively attacked on Taywara district on Saturday night and captured the district on Sunday morning.
