AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Military officials claimed on Tuesday that the issue of ghost soldiers in Helmand based Afghan National Army (ANA) ranks has been settled down.
The 215th Maiwand Military Corps commander, Brig. Gen. Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai, made the remarks while addressing to a graduation ceremony organized for 560 officers, lieutenants and sergeants.
He said the newly graduated cadets had gone through training in artillery, telecommunications, automobile engineering and other relevant fields.
He added the issue of ghost soldiers has been resolved.
“We want to professionally train our soldiers in rotation in order to strengthen the security environment,” the commander told participants of the gathering.
Moreover, the training centre commander, Col. Shah Wali Zazai, said training for the graduate was composed on duration of two months where the cades was given training by the Afghan and foreign experts.
During the training graduates has been given valuable knowledge and skills regarding war tactics, night raids and commando operations, he added.
Addressing to the inauguration ceremony, Governor Hayatullah Hayat said the graduated cadets would be deployed to various areas of the province in a bid to chase insurgency.
He emphasized on the soldiers to bring the skills into practice to be resulted in strengthening security situations across the province.
The training of new cadets has been completed at a time when six districts of the said province have fallen to Taliban militants and insurgency is speaking louder in other parts of the province as well which is needed for a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to eradicate all types of terrorist groups from the province in a bid to save lives and properties of the civilians and to pay way for the construction of Kajaki and Kamal khan dams.
