AT-KABUL: At least 29 prayer holders were “martyred” and 63 more were injured after a suicide bomber attacked a mosque, full of worshipers, in Herat the capital city of western Herat province.
The attacker first fired at a group of people in entrance of the mosque at around 8:00pm before to detonate his explosives inside the mosque among tens of worshipers, Jailani Farhad, spokesman for Herat governor told the Afghanistan Times daily.
Rafiq Shirzai, spokesman for provincial Public health affairs confirmed that 29 “martyred” and 63 injured citizens were taken to hospitals in the province.
No group claimed the responsible for the terrorist attack for which the Taliban rejected their involvement.
