To see the progress in Afghanistan, there has to be stop viewing the country through warfare point and some propagating news. Real progress has been made, but it’s lost in the news about Taliban and other militant outfits and corruption—something that at the same time making huge obstacles in front of development. But that doesn’t mean that we are far from progress path. Economic progress in Afghanistan is an understated success story. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted 2.40 percent in 2016 from the previous year. GDP Annual Growth Rate in Afghanistan averaged 8.78 percent from 2003 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 28.60 percent in 2003 and record low of -2.40 percent in 2016, according to report. Certainly, we are least developed countries in the world, but since the collapse of the Taliban regime, the economy has been steadily growing. However, security threat, the lack of infrastructure and endemic corruption have been hampering economic activity, but determination toward having a stable and prosper country have never been down. From President to ordinary Afghan masses, we all have strong commitment toward building our motherland. For instance, big fight against corruption and corrupt individuals is the most visible showcase of the National Unity Government (NUG) to have a stable country. Corruption is eating infrastructures, and it’s imperative to be eliminated fully for the sack of having flourish country. Moreover, we have mineral and underground resources that make us rich. Mining has been growing rapidly due to exploration of the country’s vast mineral resources. So everything is here to be optimistic about a peaceful and durable Afghanistan. Perhaps some of the most pronounced advances over the years, have been in information and communications technology and media industry. The progress in the area is like open book to us all. Building and rebuilding is also in the full card. The landscape of Kabul city is too different from previous one. Today we have sky-rocketing buildings, asphalted roads, big shopping malls, hospitals and so others… Like Kabul, Afghanistan as whole changed a lot with more development ahead. Construction of water dams to generate electricity is very much famous as our neighbor Iran showed reaction, opposing construction dams. Once water dams constructed, the problem of electricity would be resolved and even can transform it to other countries. So it is obvious that nothing can stop us from progress as on Sunday the first ever plant solar to produce 2mw energy through wind and sun was inaugurated in Herat province. Many developments have been made, naming all of them is not possible. The core point is that don’t see us from war binocular only. There are a lot of developments and we are proud of it. One day we will build a strong and peaceful Afghanistan with hard working.
