AT-KABUL: At least 15 armed Taliban were killed and five other armed Taliban were wounded in an airstrike in Paktia, said officials.
“At least 11 armed Taliban were killed and two other armed Taliban were wounded after Afghan Air Forces targeted militants’ hideouts in Sayed Karam district of Paktia southern province yesterday late evening,” said a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.
Statement said that in a separate report, four armed Taliban were killed and three other armed Taliban were wounded after Afghan Air Forces targeted militants’ hideouts in Ahmad Abad district, Paktia province.
Weapons belonging to the armed Taliban were also destroyed during the air raids, added statement.
The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) has stepped up counter-terrorism operations with improved close-air support to suppress the insurgency activities of the anti-government armed militant groups.
