AT-KABUL: Kandahar security official says that 20 militants have been killed in Shahwalikot district, after three hours of fighting between the police and militants, provincial official said on Friday.
Provincial Police Deputy Spokesman, Matiullah Hilal told ‘Azadi Radio’ that last night (Thursday night), Taliban insurgents conducted attacked to capture Urzgan-Kandahar highway police stations, in which police showed strong resistance and repelled their (Taliban) attack. He added that the fighting was started at evening and continues till 07:00 pm local time.
However, the Taliban insurgents didn’t say anything regarding the casualty, while they (Taliban) claimed killing of three police in Shorabak district of the province—a claim that security authorities totally brushed it aside.
