AT News Report-KABUL: At least 17 militants have been killed and 12 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within the past two days.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Ghazni, Logar, Khost, Urzgan, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations 17 insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed and 12 others wounded.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 11 Taliban fighters were killed, 12 others wounded and some ammunition and weapons destroyed in Qarabagh and Khogiani districts of Ghazni, two Deash affiliates were killed in Dara Pich district of Kunar, two insurgents were killed in Mohammad Agha district of Logar and two rebels were killed and a vehicle full of explosives and weapons destroyed in Nadali district of Helmand province.
In past 24 hours, 10 planed clearing operations, and 69 Special Forces operations conducted in nine provinces; also, Air forces conducted 82 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including four strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
