22 insurgents killed in military operations

AT News Report-KABUL:At least22militants were killed and23others woundedinmultiple extensive military crackdownswithin past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Ghani, Logar, Khost, Kandahar, Logar, Urzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab and Helmand Provinces

Statement said that in these operations22insurgents were killed and 23others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours,seven Taliban fighters were killed, three wounded and some ammunition destroyed in Abband district of Ghazni, six insurgents were killed and 11 others wounded in KhasUrzgan district and Talani area in center of Urzgan, five rebels were killed and eight others wounded in Balablok district of Farah province.

Similar, three militants were killed, one wounded, one vehicle, one motorbike and 30 round of mines belonged to the enemy were destroyed in Nadali district of Helmand and one terrorist was killed in Shahjoi district of Zabul province.

In past 24 hours, 15planed clearing operations,and 65 Special Forcesoperations conducted in 11provinces; also, Air forces conducted 43aerial operations supporting Afghan National army includingeightstrikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
