AT News Report-KABUL: In a series of anti-terror raids across the country in the past days, as many as 40militants have been killed and35others wounded.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areasNangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Khost, Urzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
Statement said that in these operations40 insurgents including a Taliban local commander were killed and 35others wounded.
During operations Afghan forces succeeded to arrest nine suspects, who were handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 10 Taliban fighters were killed, 11 wounded, nine suspects arrested and three stronghold belonged to the enemy were destroyed in Balablok district of Farah, 10 armed insurgents were killed and 17 others wounded in KhasUrzgan district of Urzgan, eight Daesh fighters were killed and three others wounded in Darzab district of Jawzjan, four rebels were killed and three others wounded in Kohistan district of Faryab province.
Similar, three militant including a Taliban commander named Mullah Naim were killed in Shahjoi district of Zabul, three terrorists were killed and three others wounded in Nadali district of Helmand and two insurgents were killed and two other wounded in Moqur district of Ghazni province.
In past 24 hours, 16planed clearing operations,and 64 Special Forcesoperations conducted in 11provinces; also, Air forces conducted 111aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including11strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
