AT News Report-KABUL: Over 100 insurgents have been killed and scores were received injures in different crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security official said on Friday. In addition to that, seven other militant have been detained.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, anti-militants operation was carried out in Nangarhar, Kunar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab and Helmand provinces, in which huge casualties sustained to the militants.
It said 59 Taliban insurgents were killed in Ghazni’s Khwaja Omari, Qarabagh and Dehyak districts where 46 others were wounded and their weapons and vehicles destroyed.
Three militants were killed and six others detained with their weapons in Marja district of southern Helmand province, the MoD statement said.
In Khas Uruzgan, Chora and provincial capital Tirinkot of central Uruzgan province, 12 rebels were killed, 17 wounded and their light and heavy weapons seized.
Another 32 insurgents were eliminated and eight others wounded in operations in Chahar Bolak district of northern Balkh province, Ghormach, Garziwan and Pashtunkot districts of Faryab.
