AT News Report-KABUL: Five civilians have been martyred and tens other received injuries after their vehicle strike with a roadside bomb in the Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, a tribal elder said.
The early morning blast too place in Paeen area of the district on a pick up vehicle and the victims included women and children, a tribal elder in the town, Sazwali, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor’s spokesman, also confirmed the incident, but provided no information about the casualties.
No insurgent group, including the Taliban insurgents who are highly engaged in roadside bombing, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Roadside bomb or improvised explosive device remains a leading cause of civilian deaths in Afghanistan.
