AT-KABUL:At least 17 fighters loyal to the Islamic State (IS) or the Daesh terrorists have been killed during operation conducted by the Afghan security forces in the past 24 hours in eastern Nangarhar province, provincial official said on Monday.

“Thesemilitants were killed in Gorgari area of Haska Mina district,” Nangarhar Governor Spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani said.

Moreover, the security forces targeted Daesh stronghold by cannon, in which six centers and nine tunnels of the group were destroyed in the district.

According to him, some ammunition and weapons belonging to Daesh fighters were also destroyed during operations, he added.

No casualty incurred to civilians during operations.
