AT-KABUL: Chief Executive, Abdullah Abdullah, promised that attacks on journalists would be investigated by the government’s leadership, condemning the attack as “crime against Afghan people” that believes no human and Islamic principles.
“Terrorists are enemies for all Afghan people and have no military, civil, ethnic and religious differentiations. They believe no human and Islamic principles and human rights,” Abdullah said Tuesday in the council of ministers’ meeting.
He added that Afghans and international community condemned the attack, asking the security forces to work harder to prevent the repetition of such attacks.
Abdullah said that in a meeting with the media representatives, they shared their viewpoints with government officials, pledging that government would meet their demands.
He said that media was fighting for freedom of speech and awareness.
25 people including nine journalists were killed in two suicide attacks Monday morning in the police district 9. Dashes terrorist group claimed responsibility for the twin bombings.
The senators also condemned the attacks, calling on the government to give tougher response to the terrorists and execute their prisoners.
“We support the media and are saddened by their loss,” said senate chief, FazlHadiMuslimyar.
He asked the government to take attack on journalists serious and let not more reporters become victims of terrorist attacks.
