AT-KABUL: Ministry of Interior on Tuesday said that Afghan forces during overnight operation have killed a senior Daesh commander along with four of his accomplices, who were behind recent bombing attack in eastern Nangarhar province.
The operation was carried out by General Command of Police Special Units (GCPSU) in the Dara Bandar village, Naziyan district of eastern Nangarhar province, which resulted at killing of a senior Daesh commander with his four accomplices, said a statement issued by MoI.
Statement said that the group was involved in planning and coordinating suicide attacks in Nangarhar province.
The special units seized one AK-47 rifle, 400 kg of IEDs, various types of weapons, ammunition and maps as well, added statement.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups, underlined statement.
