AT-KABUL: Three militants from Islamic State (IS), widely known as Daesh extremist group were arrested in eastern Nangarhar province, government media office said Tuesday in a statement, adding three of them were planning to carry out suicide attacks.
The Daesh extremists detained in an operation conducted by National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives in Behsod district, the statement added.
Qari Abbas, Abdul Rashid and Azam Khan are Daesh terrorists who detained before to blow themselves up, the statement said, adding their target was Afghan security forces.
Meanwhile, NDS informed arresting two other suspects in Bati Kot district of the same province. They were involved in several terrorist acts.
Eastern Nangarhar is becoming insecure as Daesh terrorist frequently carry’s suicide attack but always ended up with killing innocent civilians.
The IS militants on Monday claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed at least 19 people, mostly Sikhs. The bomber targeted a delegation from the minority community as it was traveling to the governor’s residence Jalalabad, the provincial capital city on Sunday for meeting with President Ashraf Ghani.
