A major challenge for the Afghan peace process will be successfully reintegrating of Taliban members, who are taking command from their leaders sitting abroad. They already widely welcomed by Afghan masses during Eid days of ceasefire. The war-weary Afghans hugged Taliban and took selfies, forgetting all the past pains received by them. The sole aim behind is terrorism as the common enemy of humanity. The cordial and friendly approach to Taliban has highly signified that the Afghan government and people resolutely oppose terrorism in any form. At the same time, there is strongly commitment in the fight against violent, terrorists, criminal activities that challenge the bottom line of human civilization. Ceasefire was a great opportunity for Taliban fighters to stay away from fighting, but unfortunately it broke out in the most brutal way. However, there is a hope over peace that can be taken for granted. A kind of peace that is measured not in months, or years, but forever. This is what we call sustaining peace. And this is what the Afghan government should be working on by asking for it in the upcoming international conference in Saudi Arabia to support peace efforts in Afghanistan. The international conference of Muslim scholars on peace and stability in Afghanistan will be held in Jeddah and Makkah on July 10 and 11 respectively. High hope pinned on it. Not only focusing on assisting peace efforts and condemning all forms of terrorism and violent extremist through emphasizing the peaceful teachings of Islam, the gatherers have to induce states-sponsoring terrorism to stay away from feeding the cycles of vicious that have been taking high tool on civilians. This is an important factor not in maintaining and strengthening security in Afghanistan but in the vast Asian continent. The scholars might also coerce Taliban group to reciprocate the Afghan government’s move of ceasefire. The National Unity Government expressed readiness to extend truce to one year, if the Taliban do the same. Extension of truce must be on the top agenda before to reach any other conclusions. This would be a win-win situation.
