AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday said that the first vice president General Abdul Rashid Dostum is highly likely to return home from Turkey.
“Issue of General Dostum is being scrutinized and the probability of his return is quite high,” said the president in his address at a press conference in Kabul.
However, he mentioned that his first VP’s case has legal angles, which has been thoroughly discussed with the General Attorney Office.
Regarding illegal armed groups and individuals, President Ghani said, “Illegal armed individuals have become a challenge and a threat all across the country”.
“A crackdown on irresponsible armed groups in Faryab, Uruzgan, Farah and other provinces have been carried out in line with the people’s demand”, he reckoned.
People are asking for law reinforcement, if the security forces do not act upon law, then peace will face challenges, so for peace it is require of a powerful and impartial forces to be acceptable for all, he mentioned.
He stated that encounter with illegal armed individuals is a national discussion and all people demand.
He elaborated that the government’s all action is based on people command and accordance to approved law of the country.
Hinting to the video leaked in the social media showing Qaisari squads insulting, President said that I have instructed to related organs to investigate seriously regarding the video of insulting and civilian casualties in Paktia and Nangarhar.
He said that all security forces are responsible ahead of law and are responsible for people.
Afghan forces are a big capital of the country, so action of number of figures must not tarnish all forces, he asserted.
Regarding presidential election president Ghani said that there is no alternative only people vote will assign the fate.
He said that I will use all security and defense forces in order to change to reality the presidential election.
Whenever and based on constitution the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the timeline for election it will be accepted by me, he added.
Pointing to recent political party and leaders’ summit and their remarks about election, president Ghani said that it is not voice of all Afghans.
