AT-KABUL: At least 10 Taliban fighters including their three group leaders were killed during an airstrike in northern Faryab province, said officials Thursday.
“The Afghan air force conducted an airstrike in Grezwan district of Faryab at 2:00am today early morning, killing 10 Taliban fighters,” said Sheen military corps spokesman Hanif Rezaie.
He said that airstrike targeted hideout of Mawlawi Hamidullah shadow chief district of Taliban for Grezwan, where three Taliban group leaders named Mullah Enamullah, Mullah Noor Ahmad and Mullah Shah were also among 10 Taliban fighters.
One PK machine guns, five AK-47 rifles, one mortar with some other ammunition and explosive destroyed during strike, he added.
He said that the dead bodies of killed Taliban with some weapons are in hand of Afghan forces.
No casualty reported among Afghan forces and civilians in the area, he underlined.
