There is no clear picture of what is exactly happening in eastern Ghazni province, after Taliban insurgents stormed the provincial capital, triggering fierce fighting with casualties inflected on both sides. Reports over control of Ghazni city is illusion so far as both Afghan security forces and Taliban militants claim they had control to the city. The real outlook that who controls the city is difficult to confirm with mobile services cut to the area after the Taliban destroyed a telecommunications tower. But the nature of Taliban insurgents is quite known to all. In the past 17 years, they have overstated at several stages. The insurgents frequently exaggerate their battlefield gains and downplay losses incurred during clashes. Provincial councilmen and civil activists warned on Sunday against a humanitarian crisis in the embattled Ghazni if fighting continued, amid a fierce battle that erupted a few days back and spiraled across the city and its outskirts. The Taliban guerillas attacked Ghazni city on Thursday night from multiple directions, overrunning areas and burning government and private installations. Of course with such a lean-to clashes, the situation in Ghazni city is terrible, both the war sides and civilians have suffered casualties. Only governor’s house, National Directorate of Security (NDS) department and the police headquarters were under control of the security forces and other parts of the city had been captured by the Taliban, according to some reports. However, it is crystal clear that Taliban militants always use civilian houses as stronghold – and Afghan security forces all the time vowed resistance against rebels with caution to avoid civilian casualties. Shame on Taliban that use civilians as human shields to save themselves, and proud to our brave Afghan security forces for their strong commitment in safeguarding civilians even in the toughest time that face in ongoing fight against militants in Ghazni. The Taliban are using residential houses, shops and public markets as their strongholds and the army forces are operating with extreme caution in order to prevent civilian casualties and financial losses. The Afghan security forces showed they are ready to stand for something greater than themselves and that’s to safeguard national interest and national integrity and sovereignty. And have always guarded his chest to prevent bullets to hit trouble Afghans chest. Their sacrifices will never ever be forgotten.
