AT-KABUL: At least 51 militants have been killed in the past day in military crackdowns that left 31 others wounded across the country.
Afghan national security and defense forces launched a string of joint operations against insurgents in Nangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Badghis, Herat, Faryab, Baghlan, Sar-e-Pul, Kunduz and Helmand provinces, said a statement carried by the Defense Ministry.
Statement said that in these operations 51 insurgents were killed and 31 others wounded.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 10 Taliban fighters were killed and six others wounded in Faizabad district of Jawzjan, seven insurgents were killed and five others wounded in Dawlatabad district of Balkh, six militants were killed and four others wounded in Chahar Dara district of Kunduz, four insurgents killed and six others wounded in Alingar district of Laghman, three militants were killed and one wounded in Balablok district of Farah, one insurgents killed another wounded in Andar district of Ghazni and three Taliban fighters were wounded in Adraskan district of Herat province.
Afghan Air Forces also conducted heavy air strikes on enemies’ positions that as a result, 14 Daesh affiliates were killed in Darapich and Sokai district of Kunar, three militants were killed and five others wounded in Dasht-e-Archi district of Kunduz and two rebels were killed in central part of Urzgan province.
In past 24 hours, 16 planed clearing operations, and 108 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted 114 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 12 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
