AT News Report-KABUL: Thirty terrorists affiliated with Taliban group were killed in encounters with security forces in western Farah province in the past two days, said provincial officials.
Governor of FarahGen. Abdul Basir Salangi has said at a press briefing that 30 Taliban terrorists have been killed and 11 wounded during offensives against the militant group across Farah.
Some Taliban commanders were killed and sustained injuries in the operations, a statement quoted Salangi as saying.
“Mullah Bari Jan, Taliban’ssenior commander, along with his 12 comrades were killed during the clampdown in the Dewar Sorkh village of Khak Safid district,” he asserted.
Salangi claimed that Mullah Salam Hanzala and Mullah Mokhles were among wounded insurgents.
A big cache of ammunition and narcotics were discovered in the Bakwah district and then destroyed, he added.
Some 2500 kg narcotics also torched inside the mentioned cache, he noted.
The statement said Afghan forces will continue to clearance operation with the support of Resolute Support Mission in different districts of Farah provinces in order to suppress enemy and reinforce stability.
