At least 26 Taliban insurgents including a local commander were killed during an onslaught of Afghan police in southern Ghazni province, according to authorities.
According to a statement issued by Ministry of Interior (MoI), Afghan police special unit has launched anti-Taliban militants’ crackdown in Qarabagh district of Ghazni, which resulted at killing of 26 rebels including a local commander named Hafiz.
The killed militants planned to attack police check points in the district, who before assault were gunned down by police, mentioned statement.
No police and civilian casualty reported during operation in the district.
