KABUL: At least 29 extremist Taliban militants including two key commanders were killed in northern Faryab province over the past day, according to officials.
Afghan forces raided and bombed militant hideouts along the highway of Shirin Tagab and Khwaja Sabz Posh area, killing at least 29 Taliban insurgents including two Iranian terrorist known as Ahmad and Mullah Jundullah were killed, said a Shaheen Corps Spokesman Hanif Rezaee.
He said that two Taliban local commander Mullah Nasrat and Mullah Sadi were also among killed militants. The commanders were killed during air strike targeted Mullah Sahfiz stronghold in Qura Shikhi area of Khwaja Sabz posh district, he added.
Based on report 23 other rebels were wounded and the Mullah Sahfiz stronghold busted, he noted.
During aforementioned raids Maimana-Andkhoi highway opened and the security logistic convoy reached to Faryab province.
No casualty incurred to civilians and security forces during raids.
