KABUL: Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) said on Monday it has funded the treatment of 1,742 patients with heart disease in 2018.
ARCS has treated 1742 children with disease of hole in heart inside the country and in abroad, which reveal 60 percent increase in treatment. Last year 1200 children were treated.
Since 2008 ARCS hasregistered 15320 patients with disease of hole in the heart, which out of 8674 of them were treated, said Secretary General of ARCS Nilab Mubariz.
Speaking at a press conference, she said thatwe would have around 15 percent death out of the remained 6646 enlisted patients, so by minus of the fatality figure over 4000 patient will be in the waiting list for treatment.
She said that newly 2218 patient registered for the treatment programs in the ARCS.
ARCS will exert utmost efforts to provide facilities for all enlisted patients, she added.
She stated that ARCS in cooperation with Hajjis, financial support of Afghan government, India, Qatar Red Crescent, China Red Cross assistance found the ability to have such success and reach an increase of 60 percent in treatment.
ARCS have granted different healthcare services to over 4 million across the country, she noted.
ARCS says that all the children with heart disease registered in ARCS are poor and vulnerable people and their families are not able to afford expenditure of the treatment.Only the way and hope for children with heart disease is ARCS.
