AT-KABUL: Defense caretaker minister Asadullah Khaled says Taliban would be under increasing pressures to abandon war and join the government’s peace talks.
Khaled said Tuesday in a visit to the northern province of Faryab that military operations would continue against the insurgent group until it gives up armed opposition.
Taliban have rejected government’s requests for face to face dialogues, insisting on constant war.
Faryab has been filed of severe battle between security forces and Taliban fighters in the past few weeks.
Provincial officials have said that situation got calm after dozens of militants including their leaders were killed during army’s ground and air attacks on their strongholds.
