AT-PESHAWAR: Manzoor Pashteen Chief of Pakhtoon Tahafuz Movement (PTM) has demanded exemplary punishment to ex-Karachi police officer Mr. Rao Anwaar who was not only responsible for killing of Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud but also found guilty in killing of over 440 innocent people in fake encounters.
Manzoor made the demand while addressing a well attended rally arranged in connection with first death anniversary of Naqeeb Ullah Mehsud in Tank on Sunday. The rally was attended by thousands of people from all over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjacent areas of Baluchistan.
Beside others a large number of mothers, fathers, brothers, wives and sisters of those “missing persons” were present who mysteriously disappeared after their arrests or picking up by personnel of law enforcing agencies. Similarly a large number of those including children who have lost limbs in land mines explosions were also turned to the rally, considered historical in Tank.
Amidst chanting slogans against government and governments especially security forces, the PTM activists have received their leaders on entrance to venue of the rally., Manzoor Pashteen along with leading aides including MNA Ali Wazir entered venue of the rally.
Manzoor said that all those who are involved in killing of innocent Pakhtoons are involved in terror acts and aggression against Pakhtoons are being patronized even hosted like guests by State and State organs. In this respect he diverted attentions towards ex-police officer Rao Anwaar and militant spokesperson Qari Ihsan Ullah Ihsan, as both of them are now a days treated like Very Important Persons (VIP’s). He said that both of them were involved in killing of Pakhtoons and aggression, therefore, they should be awarded exemplary punishment. He urged the government to realize its promises regarding recovery/release of missing persons and constitute a Truths and Reconciliation Commission for settling the issue.
Besides Manzoor, the rally was also addressed by several others including MNA Ali Wazir. Another PTM MNA Mohsin Dawar reached late even during concluding speech of Manzoor Pashteen.
Earlier, the district administration denied permission to PTM leaders for holding rally in Town Hall Ground but on Sunday morning, they changed the decision. In this respect, Manzoor Pashteen has extended thanks to the district and police administration.
