KABUL: Salahuddin Rabbani, head of the Jaimat-e-Islami party has rejected remarks by his party fellow Mohammad Younus Qanooni as “a defeat-accepting morale”, saying his words should be more focused by the party.
Qanooni said earlier in an audio message that Jamiat’s strategic goal was a change in the system. He had also claimed that Rabbani joined Ghani’s team with encouragement of chief executive Abdullah Abdullah.
Rabbani, who is foreign minister in Ghani’s cabinet, said Monday that Qanooni’s message went viral before he ordered the release to Qanooni.
Political analysts and members of Jamiat believe the remarks as differences in the leadership of the party.
Rabbani has also instructed the Jamiat party to focus on Qanooni’s “defeat-accepting morale”.
Rabbani’s office in the Jamiat party is yet to say about the messages.
The conflicting messages come as political parties and figures are preparing to find places in the July’s presidential elections.
